Louisville Area Information

.
Louisville's 21,000 residents have everything they need right on their doorstep. This friendly, delightful gem of a town offers diverse retail, outdoor activities, community activities, and access to employment centers. Money Magazine named this charming Colorado community a top three “Best Places to Live in the U.S.” Situated southeast of Boulder, Louisville is a trendy place to call home among families and professionals alike.

Culture: There's No Place Like Home

Residents would tell you these eight square miles deliver the best of all worlds.
Louisville’s iconic historic downtown has a long history of irresistible family restaurants and quaint shops. Today, new businesses continue to join, resulting in new retail shops lining the main street, redevelopment projects sprouting, and new home developments emerging.
Also, just down the road lay big box shops, including Lowes, Costco, and Super Target. A well-attended recreation center serves young, old, and in-between. Community activities include open space for running and hiking, sports leagues, dog park, and an 18-hole Coal Creek Golf Course.
Festivals attract people from miles around, including the Louisville Downtown Street Faire, with live music on Friday evenings during the height of summer, plus a plethora of community events and parades throughout the year.
The city also is home to Avista Adventist Hospital, offering excellent and convenient healthcare. Highly-rated public schools in the area are part of Boulder Valley School District.
And, while there’s no place like Historical Downtown Louisville, easy access to major commercial and cultural centers in Boulder and Denver is readily available via U.S. 36.

Economy: Diverse and Growing

Louisville has significant business parks and serves as headquarters for nationally known companies, including Gaia, RGS Energy, and GHX.
According to local business news publication BizWest, businesses locating in Louisville include:

•  Sierra Nevada Corp.’s division for Dream Chaser, a reusable orbital spacecraft
•  Vaisala Corp.’s new North American headquarters

•  Functional Remedies LLC

•  Medtronic

Regional Transportation District bus routes connect Erie with Boulder, Broomfield, Lafayette, and Louisville. For those who travel frequently, it’s a short 35-minute drive to Denver International Airport.

Real Estate

A highly desirable place to live, Louisville offers a mix of new and existing homes and townhomes walkable to historic downtown. Buyers of all types – families, young professionals, and retirees – are attracted to the community’s welcoming spirit and easy access to shopping open space, and outdoor activities.
Newly developed and popular areas include Steel Ranch and North End.
Neighborhoods offer winding streets and a short walk to a park or open space. And the town was planned to be easy to walk and bike.
Similar to Boulder, developable land is limited, which contributes to increasing housing prices.
